Can i start taking finasteride to maintain my current hairline?

"I’ve been using topical minoxidil once a night for the last three months, and to be honest, I haven't seen any results. I’m actually happy with my current hairline; I just want to maintain it and don't mind if no new hair grows. Since I seem to be a non-responder, I'm planning to stop minoxidil. Can I start taking finasteride instead to prevent my hair from thinning further at the front?"
