Checking for spikes

Post Content

I see people saying that certain foods spike their glucose. Is there a way to check this besides a cgm? Would a finger poke show it accurately? How long after I eat would I do a finger check to figure out spikes? Like if I eat an egg or drink coffee - when would I check? Before I eat and drink, and then how long after to compare?
