40M - 4582 Grafts Dr Patty - Hairtran Clinic Bangkok

Post Content

**Background / Research Phase** I’m a 40-year-old male and had been considering a hair transplant for at least 1–2 years before finally pulling the trigger. I spent a lot of time researching clinics, reading forums (a lot of Reddit), watching results, and trying to understand what would realistically work for my level of loss. After going back and forth for quite a while, I eventually decided to go with Dr. Patty. From the beginning, the communication was very transparent and straightforward, which gave me confidence in the decision. **Consultation & Graft Planning** Initially, I was quoted around 3,500 grafts. Honestly, I didn’t think I would need more than that. But I told Dr. Patty to decide what would be best once she assessed everything properly in person. On the day, we ended up doing 4,582 grafts. It was more than I expected, but I trusted her judgment. Even now, I sometimes think that with that number I could have added temple work, as my temples weren’t touched at all. That said, by the last hour I was exhausted, my head was very numb, and I was honestly getting tired of the whole process. So I’m okay with how it went. As per Dr., I still have around 2,000 grafts available in the donor area, which could potentially be used in the future for temple work if needed. **Procedure Day** I arrived at the clinic around 8 AM. The procedure took about 5–6 hours for the 4,582 grafts. Overall, it was smoother than I expected. The clinic experience was very nice, and the staff were amazing throughout the day — very professional, calm, and reassuring. **Cost** The total cost for the procedure was 229,000 baht. I also opted for PRP, which was an additional 12,500 baht. Considering the graft count (4,582), I felt it was reasonable value compared to many other places I had researched. **Bangkok Stay & Immediate Post-Op** I stayed in Bangkok for 7 days for post-op care. My family flew in with me, which made the whole experience much easier and honestly enjoyable. I stayed mostly in the hotel for the first 3 days. After day 3, I started moving around wearing a bandana. It wasn’t as socially awkward as I had imagined. The scabs came off around day 12. **Medications (Pre & Post Op)** Before the transplant, I had been using topical minoxidil with 0.05% dutasteride for about 6 months. Post-op, I’m now on 0.5 mg finasteride and 2.5 mg oral minoxidil. I’ve tried both oral fin and oral min in the past but experienced side effects from both. This time I’m hoping that with the lower doses, I can tolerate them better. However, I’ve started getting mild heart palpitations again and I’m feeling very tired, with almost no energy to exercise. I’m going to give it a couple of months at this lower dose to see if my body adjusts, but I’m monitoring it closely. **Shedding Phase (Day 29 Update)** Today is day 29, and honestly, it looks scary. Most of the transplanted hairs have shed, and I’m almost back to where I started. I knew about shock loss and shedding, but experiencing it is different. I was using hair fibres before the transplant, so now going out without a cap makes me a bit self-conscious. Trying to trust the process and remind myself this is normal at the one-month mark. Overall, I’m happy with the experience and the clinic. Now it’s just the mental game of waiting for growth over the next few months. Happy to answer any questions if anyone’s considering Dr. Patty or a similar graft count.
