Temporal meningoencephalocele

Post Content

The temporal bone above middle ear is thin/gone above my right ear. Small area of soft tissue herniated into middle ear sitting on hearing bones. No pain, mild hearing loss. No intracranial hypertension. No leaking of csf fluid. Can hear my pulse often, can also hear my right eyeball when it moves. Having a hard time deciding what to do, whether surgery is the right approach or watchful waiting. Doctors say it’s up to me, but I’m trying to understand the risks of surgery and the risks of just letting it go. Seems like a rare case, anyone have experience/insights?? 42/female, overweight but no medications or other issues.
