30m experiencing random sharp leg/knee pain

Post Content

So sometime last week I went to crawl into bed left knee first and a sharp pain on the left side of my kneecap hit me instantly. At first i thought there had to of been something on my bed that I pressed my weight down on. Checked the bed and didnt see anything. Simply touching my knee there, even with decent pressure, does not hurt. No bruising or swelling that i can tell. But whenever I crawl into bed and put weight on my knee while bending that leg it hurts. Laying flat on my stomach or back is no issue. However the pain started happening other times too. Crouching or squatting with long pants on also hurts enough that it stops me from whatever im doing. Simply touching the area with my hand is still painless. However I just tested putting pressure with my hand on the left side of my kneecap and then bending my leg and the sharp pain happened. Little context, I do not exercise, lift weights, jog, or anything like that physically demanding on my body. For the past 4 months I’ve been unemployed and spending alot of time in bed either depressed not doing anything but laying mostly on my left side or sitting up in bed with a laptop on my lap. I know that isnt good but Im just trying to give context of how ive acted lately. I dont have the money or insurance to go to the doctor on whim because my leg hurts so im turning to reddit to look for advice if I should bite the bullet and go as soon as possible, or that this is a symptom of being so inactive the last several months and it should pass with more activity. Thank you and if someone has more questions please ask them and I will answer them to the best of my abilities.
