Can my estrogen levels even be correct? (mtf)
Post Content
I really don't know what to google, so here I am. I know that hormone levels vary from person to person, and so it makes sense that not everyone is on the same dose. But after talking to a bunch of trans women around me, I still feel like an outlier to a degree where I wonder whether my test results can even be correct. So, I'm currently taking 1,5mg of Estradiol (0,75mg in the morning and evening each) + 12,5mg of cypro per day. My testo levels getting obliterated by that (<20 ng/ml) makes total sense, I'm actually considering to ask about lowering it at my next appointment. But then my estrogen levels are somehow at 576pg/ml, and comparing that to everything I heard that just seems insane? Pretty much everyone around me takes AT LEAST twice as much estradiol, yet none of their levels come close to mine. Can that really even be correct? For reference, my last blood test was in the morning, roughly \~10-11 hours after I last applied the gel. From what I've heard it's best to time your blood tests, so that they're done shortly before you would take your next dose. Is there anything else I should pay attention to? Like, if my levels are actually that high: that's great, I can obviously stick to my pretty low dose! I'm just wondering whether I messed up somehow, and could/should actually ask to switch to a higher dose. I have my next tests coming up later this month, and want to make sure that the results are accurate...
