Dawn Rise Confusion

Post Content

Hi there! I have been on a healing journey only about 3 months now and I am not on any meds. Giving myself 6 months to see what I can do without meds. I follow a strict low carb diet (less than 30g a day with most of that being green veg) and I am trying to get my morning numbers down. I have experimenting with some different routines and todays test has me stumped. I woke up at 530am and had breakfast within 20 minutes of waking (half chicken breast, 10 nuts and a string cheese) then I went for my 30 minute cold/fast walk, came back home and did some light standing work and have been sitting doing office work for the past 2 hours and my numbers have skyrocketed to 240. I know that number will eventually go down around 1pm (3 hours from now) but I don't get it. Why didn't the meal I had right away keep dawn numbers at bay? If I don't eat before walking my numbers also get high but only around 190, I was trying to get that 190 lower and saw the tips to eat right away on waking to fight back the dawn rise but did not work for me. Not sure what this is telling me -- should I stop my morning workout before 9am altogether? Thanks for any advice :)
