I’ve entered another dimension

I saw a new PCP today as my old one moved a few years ago and I never bothered to find a new one until recently when my migraines came back. To specifically touch on the migraine aspect of things, when going over options available to me new doc recommended amitriptyline 10 mg every night and nurtec 75mg as needed. I made sure to stress that I did not want to have anything that’s going to cause weight gain and more exhaustion that I am already facing. I’ve been struggling to lose weight and oversleeping for work. I constantly feel in a fog from exhaustion and go through days where I’m fighting to stay awake. I do not have insurance and she was aware, after looking up the amitriptyline all I see is people saying how exhausted it made them and the weight gain it caused, am I losing my mind??? Those are the two things I stressed that I do not want 😭 Can anyone tell me their experience? I’m not sure what to do if that’s the case. As for the Nurtec, the cheapest I could find it was $500, so that also seems off the menu for me. I get financial aid for my doctors visits until August when it runs out but medications I pay out of pocket for. In the past I had migraines so long and severe (3weeks continuous ) that keept me bed ridden and losing my job. My current migraines are no where near that severe so I figured we would start from the beginning with Topamax again, which also at the time helped with my weight. But she seemed to skip all that so I’m at a loss???
