New to IBS, how do i manage minor accidents?

Post Content

Hi! im new to IBS, which as been partially spurned on by beginning ADHD meds, diet changes (such as quitting coffee) and a few major changes that have come from body regaining mobility and function after extensive rehab. It seems regaining movement has helped my gut become more relaxed. But not in a way I'm used to. Thankfully as far as the doctor has checked, I have no health issues causing this. My gut is just reacting to the changes. And I have been suggested to see if it improves with self management before we try anything too invasive. One annoying thing is minor accidents. My farts are no longer the same. I have wet farts more frequently. Before, I had a lot more control over that. I usually mitigate this by farting over a toilet. But I can't always rush to the bathroom. So this has led to a few small smears. Nothing major, it never happens more than once in a day when it occurs, and always triggered voluntary even if by accident. But Its embarrassing. However this is only really triggered in public especially at work where my nervous system is most alert. Which isn't the place I want to have accidents. So I'm wondering, what are the best tips to mitigating wet farts? Especially when im taking stimulant medication which makes my gut more active. What are the tips and tricks?
