Abnormally High 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Without Supplementation

Post Content

I haven't been feeling well for a while, and initially assumed it was just the combo of being in my mid-40s and dealing with ongoing stress. I decided to pay out of pocket to have some blood work done. I asked to have my B12, iron levels (since I’ve had chronically low ferritin), and vitamin D checked. They also ran a standard hematology panel, which came back normal across the board. The only result outside the reference range was my 25-hydroxyvitamin D level, which was 146.1 nmol/L (reference range 50.0–125.0 nmol/L). The report noted that this level carries a "potential for adverse effects". I don't take any supplements. I'm a little worried while I await my Dr. to call me back. I also have Type 1 Diabetes if that makes a difference. It's well controlled. I'm at a normal height and weight.
