Tretinoin helps so much but flaking appears when I wear makeup

I’ve included a pic of the skincare I use (not included: sunscreen because I work in an office with no windows all day, and rosehip oil it works wonders when my skin feels extra dry or I want to give myself a face massage) I have been using tret 0.025% since fall 2025 and used the cream up until last month because it was too clogging (this flaky issue happened then too so this is not to blame the gel) and I use it for acne scars and to clear up my pores/reduce breakouts I only rinse with water in the morning, and a lot of times skip the hyaluronic acid in the morning too. Why is this happening still do I need more hydration? All my makeup is water based.
