PA expired and doctor won’t renew “until needed for a refill”

I have been on Zepbound since 2023 and up until now, have had no problem getting the doctor to submit a PA renewal before the previous one expired, but this time, he is refusing to submit until I refill it next time. It expired on Sunday, Feb 8. I tried calling my insurance to see if it is a problem and they didn’t seem to know what I was talking about and just advised me to get the doctor to start a new one ASAP. Now my doctor hasn’t responded to my messages about this for almost a week now. I will be eligible for a refill in a couple of weeks. Like…how long can a PA be expired for before it’s just invalid and can’t be renewed? What should I do? It’s so weird to me that he refused to submit a renewal in time and now I’m worried that I will end up coughing up $450 a month instead of the $0-72 a month I pay now.
