Aphasia

Post Content

Hello, I was wondering what other folks do to help with aphasia? Or to cope with the frustration of aphasia. I am 28 and have been diagnosed and treating migraines since I had 14. On of my most prominent symptoms when I have a migraine is aphasia. I work a very think-heavy job, that requires a lot of communication and focus and math. Some days, I am essentially useless, because I can’t finish sentences. A major component of my job is to explain complex procedures to clients, discuss heavy topics and financial hardships. I struggle to not feel upset with myself when I have to restart my sentence or train of thought, when I’m talking about complicated things. I keep people from losing their homes, but they have to understand what is going on and what they need to do. I feel like I am unprofessional when I stutter or phase out in the middle. How do you cope? Does anyone have similar responsibilities? I have had a persistent migraine for almost 2 weeks and I just feel awful.
