Appendicitis

Post Content

Two days ago I (26F) woke up with my period. Pretty typical, feeling crappy, bloated. One thing I noticed that was weird is that I felt I needed to poop but just couldn’t. I laid in bed for a few hours and then out of the blue got this intense pain on the right side of my stomach. It was 0-100 instantly. I balled up on my right side. I’ve had bad pain from gas before that usually goes away in a few minutes. Well I laid like that for maybe an hour (laying like this made the pain go away) kinda forgot about the pain as I was watching a show on my phone. Go to move and realized I couldn’t straighten my legs without intense pain. I called my husband to come home to take me to the emergency room. On the way I was in so much pain. Every bump was agonizing. As we entered the parking lot we went over a speed bump. I screamed in pain and then…. Pain was completely gone. It hadn’t let up the entire time. I was shocked. I still wanted to get checked out so I opted for urgent care. While there they did a urine analysis and blood test. They pressed hard on the area that hurt before and honestly I felt fine. They discussed doing a CT scan but when my blood test came back normal they opted not to. The only thing I was informed of is that I had a UTI which was weird because I had no symptoms. So I left with a prescription for antibiotics and the doctor telling me to just pay attention to the area and to come back if pain persists. Over the past few days I’ve been fine. Just crampy and I feel super gassy. Yesterday I was able to clean my house, eat normally, had normal bowel movements. I guess I’m just really paranoid. I have a bit of health anxiety so sometimes when I fixate on areas of my body I can feel things that aren’t really there or mistake normal feelings for medical emergencies. I guess I’m just looking for some opinions. I’ve seen some people say they presented with zero symptoms except mild pain. My question is, would having severe pain and having it go away be a concern for appendicitis?
