Damaged hands from working.

Post Content

I work as a cleaner in Sweden (where we currently get down to almost -30c) and I’ve always been used to my hands getting dry from using microfiber materials at work and going out after washing my hands etc but this is the worst my hands have ever looked. This happened within my 2 first weeks of being back to work after having been away for a long ass time. I wear nithril gloves when handling microfiber towels and mops, except for when I’m taking them out of the dryer, but that’s just for like 30 seconds. And when cleaning toilets ofc. I drive between a lot of different locations that only take maybe 20min-1h each to clean so I go in and out a lot. I also wash my hands every time I remove my gloves after cleaning toilets etc, so I think this has all happened from me going outside in the cold after just having washed my hands etc. Now.. it’s gotten to a point where it physically hurts to use both my hands because of how dry and cracked they are. :( I even struggle unscrewing lids on bottles because it’s so painful.. bending my fingers is really painful as well. I finally got work gloves like a week ago that’s supposed to keep my hands warm when I go outside, so they aren’t all moist and exposed to the cold, but I desperately need some sort of hand care routine. Problem is that I absolutely hate sticky hands so I really struggle using hand lotion, but I feel like I really need to find something good and repairing for my hands. I just don’t know what to get or where to look :( my hands just constantly sting and burn and bleed occasionally (as you can probably see in the pictures too). My whole entire hands are just dry and cracked, but the back of my hands are more extreme than my palms, but it all sucks just as much either way. Even touching certain things is super uncomfortable and gross to me atm :(
