Got my Pap smear results, I guess it was abnormal :( first colposcopy ever coming soon

I’m having a terrible day. I got my first Pap smear ever not too long ago and now the doctor is calling me saying they need to do a colposcopy/biopsy because it looked kinda bumpy, I apparently have HPV and my pap was abnormal. I should have asked what “abnormal” meant because frankly I don’t know anything about this kinda stuff. I’m scared that my next procedure will be very painful, I’m not hearing great things about it online. He’s scheduled very far out as well so I can’t even get it done until march and I have to worry until then. Idek how long I’ve had HPV for but I’m not feeling fantastic!
