Can't sleep on progesterone. Suggestions?
Post Content
so I've had insomnia for over 15 years and I take klonopin at night because it's better than not sleeping at all. (I've tried all the things so please no suggestions about sleep hygiene, there is nothing I haven't already tried from exhausting myself physically to meditation and supplements). I'm in my final semester of an MSW program with a clinical internship with SMI clients. I need to be on the ball. I want to graduate. I found myself with really bad brain fog and not being able to understand or remember the most basic tasks even after five or six times of people showing me. so I went to MIDI Health and I could get the progesterone right away. but there are no estrogen patches so I asked for the pill form. I'm getting that prescription tonight. The doctor told me to take the progesterone at night and it helps people sleep. I haven't slept in 2 days, Even with the Klonopin which usually knocks me out. I am getting the estrogen today in pill form, any recommendations on how I should navigate the situation? should I take the progesterone during the day? Will the estrogen change anything? I noticed I'm not getting hot flashes anymore and I don't have rage so that's good, but now I'm confused as to what I should do about not sleeping. if this has been asked I apologize, I'm having a lot of issues with reading comprehension right now. I'm at the point where I'm thinking if this doesn't work I might have to drop out of school - in my final semester, 78 days to go, because I am terrified I'm going to make a mistake with a vulnerable population. anyone have similar issues? suggestions on how should I navigate this?
