skin around ingrown toenail going purple

Post Content

female, 5’4, 50\~kg. i’ve had an ingrown toenail for 2 months, at first it was painful and has gone through periods of being painful to walk on, but no longer is. a week after noticing it, i was admitted to a hospital for my mental health so i’ve been unable to book a gp appt to get it looked at (/unwanting to as it would be with/ through staff), or try to do anything to treat it myself. it’s been leaking pus and blood for basically this entire time and has what i imagine to be the ‘infection smell’ (unpleasant). now the skin on the side of the ingrown nail is turning a purple colour, there is no numbness or pain and no streaking or anything. there is also a bump that looks a bit like a pimple but i think may be the nail about to grow through my skin i don’t really want to tell the staff because… ingrown toenail yknow but is this something i should get looked at sooner rather than later? (there are daily obs, so i know i don’t have an increased temp, nor have i noticed my toe being hotter, and i’ve taken photos of the purple so i can check if it’s spreading. i will definitely tell staff if i start to feel any sort of infection in myself or around my toe that could have permanent consequences)
