Two Years of Diagnosed Mild Colitis. Should I get Steroid Treatment?
Post Content
Hi all. Two years ago I was diagnosed with colitis. Bleeding badly, frequent bowel movements, and sever pain. After a colonoscopy I was put on Mezavant (4.8g). Later reduced to 2.4g. One year later, another colonoscopy, and still mild. Minor/infrequent bleeding, 1-3 bowel movements a day, and no pain. Two years later, another colonoscopy, and still mild (some parts have cleared up, new parts inflamed, no scars). Mezavant dosage increased to 4.8g. No bleeding. no pain. 1-3 bowl movements a day. Life feels normal. However the Gastroenterologists would like to see zero inflammation and suggest steroids. What are your thoughts or experiences?
