Who does lymph node biopsy?

Post Content

55F BMI17 Had nasopharyngeal cancer in 2005 with the biopsy done by surgery. This year (2026), a PET scan shows active lymph nodes in neck. My oncologist wants to send me to interventional radiology for needle biopsy rather than a surgeon/ENT. However, would a surgeon be better? Would interventions radiologists know how to biopsy in a way to prevent spread (“tumor seeding”, etc) if it is cancer?
