No energy, making appointment with doctor, anything else to look at?
Post Content
I am 30F, obese (class 1, BMI 33), live in the northern US so I am affected by SAD. I exercise a fair amount, usually average 8,000-10,000 steps a day but with energy levels now it is averaging 5,000 a day. I eat relatively healthy (I’d say roughly 90% if my diet is home cooked meals, only eat out on weekends with only once a month of fast food). I also stopped drinking, used to drink a bit back in early 20s and in the past few years it has dropped significantly (3-6 drinks a week to maybe one drink a month if that, maybe every other month) I have an energy problem and am going to make an appointment to follow up with my doc. Health changes made to potentially help; I am already on Wellbutrin to help with the SAD, energy levels seem similar whether it is summer or winter. I started taking iron and B12 as prescribed. I recently got off of birth control (IUD) and thought this might help but I’m wondering if maybe it didn’t? I used to have no energy just on my period but now it seems all the time. Fairly stressful job but nothing too intense, just regular corporate America trying to meet metrics. If anything energy levels are adding to the stress since half of the day I’m exhausted and work super slow if at all. Doc said if I don’t notice a change we were going to do more thyroid tests. Wondering if there is anything else to potentially look at. All of my blood tests were in relatively normal ranges and can find specifics, but no diabetic markers. No sleep issues that I or my partner have noticed (no apnea issues) I notice when I work out more I tend to have more energy but lately that hasn’t been helping. I’ll be in the middle of working out and feel like I need to lay down immediately. I think I’ve always had this energy problem even when I was younger and not overweight.
