Toddler fell, how worried should I be?

Post Content

I 25F have a toddler that is 22 months old. The child is 31lbs, and otherwise very healthy. She is super active and loves to run around and climb things. Usually when she falls (because she’s a toddler and falls a hundred times a day) I kiss her knee and we move on, but this one is a little weird. She was running and holding a sippy cup when she fell and she landed directly on the spout of the cup. Immediately there was a bump behind her ear. It swelled and was red and blue. She cried for about 3 minutes, then was acting totally fine. I called the pediatricians office and the doc said he had never seen anything like it, but that he wasn’t too worried because she was moving her head ok and playing like normal. He said just watch and it should go down. Still, it’s a super weird bump and my mom heart is panicking. Anyone seen anything like this before? Is ice and baby Tylenol an appropriate reaction? Should I be on the watch for anything specific? Picture in the comment for reference! TIA!
