Common Cold, for how Long?

I’ve been sick with an infection for three weeks now. It’s probably the flu. Since then, I’ve dropped from 75% functioning to 15%. I can’t do anything, I feel really awful, and I haven’t seen any improvement. How long did it take for you to recover, and can anyone help me make it go faster or at least tell me that it’s not permanent? I’m extremely scared that this is permanent.
