Tiny dot at the base of my thumbnail

I (M35, ADHD medication, occasional smoker, no known diseases or illnesses) just noticed I have a dot at the base of my thumbnail. It might have been there for more than a week or two. I took a detailed photo which I will attach in the comments. Should I get it checked out or does it look like a hematoma?
