Was at my GP today for 6 month check in, I haven’t been tracking my own weight loss as due to a history of eating disorders and scale obsession we decided it wouldn’t be a healthy option for my mental wellbeing. But she weighed me before we started and weighed me today. I’m on Ozempic to control my A1C and it’s working amazingly well for that. I thought I hadn’t really lost that much weight and had made my peace with that. I’ve spent years unlearning tying my worth to body size but I chose Ozempic to take care of my long-term health and manage my diabetes. Most of my clothes still fit the same so I’m not really sure where it’s come off me but I’m down 12kgs 😱 very surprised, had to look up some things that weigh 12kg to give myself a better idea visually of how much that actually is and it’s an average two year old, a microwave oven, a standard car tire, a fully grown Beagle, lollll, this has given me some decent perspective that even though my loss has been slow it’s been significant and I’m really happy. It’s so worth the minor struggles I’ve had with the medication.
