Is medicine worth it?

Basically I took adderall for the first time. It made me really relaxed and I could do my homework for 2 hours straight. I didn’t have much of a comedown except being sleepy. And I couldn’t sleep well that night, but I took at it 5:30pm. I told everyone about this, excited bc this might help me with college. But my 2 friends w adhd said they both stopped medicine because of the side effects and my sister said I shouldn’t take it unless im seriously failing everything
