No Endo found… what next?

Post Content

I’ve just had a diagnostic laparoscopy for suspected endometriosis. I’ve had multiple nurses and GPs tell me they strongly believe I have endo, I have all the symptoms, bowel, bladder, ‘endo belly’ and obviously horrific periods and cyclical abdominal pain. We have ruled out other things like PCOS, Coeliac etc. I even ended up in hospital a few weeks ago for severe pain around my right ovary and again, the gynaecologist that I saw believed it was being caused by endo as they couldn’t find any other obvious cause and all the symptoms lined up. My surgeon has informed me everything looked normal other than a small cyst underneath my left ovary - no endometriosis found and nothing to explain the recent pain on my right side, concluding a suspected ruptured cyst for this. I’m feeling really deflated as I was hoping to finally have an answer for the pain I’ve been experiencing. My GP is now telling me “some people just have really bad periods” and has told me to go on the pill and see how I am in a year (which I am going to do because I physically can’t keep suffering through my periods anymore) but it feels incredibly dismissive. Has anyone gone through similar and found any answers? Thanks in advance.
