Working with anxiety - heights

Post Content

Hello fellow anxious people of Reddit! Has anyone else experienced panic attacks while working in a high building? I work on a floor in the high teens. I’ve been afraid of heights my entire life- literally as far as I can remember. When I got this job, I didn’t realize it would affect me so badly because it’s in a building and isn’t THAT high. Since I got the job I started taking a beta blocker (propranolol) to help. My panic attacks aren’t bad when I take it but it’s still lingering. When it wears off again it’s bad. At first I thought the “exposure therapy” would help but it seems to be making it way way worse for me. Am I being ridiculous for needing more of an accommodation? I feel so bad for asking for help and everything. Does anyone have experience with something like this? What helped?
