Surgery tomorrow

Post Content

Hi! I know this has been posted a ton. I’m sorry for repeating a question that has been asked a lot. I have surgery tomorrow- with an OBGYN (not endometriosis specialist). I have been in pain for 6+ years. I thought it was PCOS for a long time but the pain is persistent. I’ve had several pelvic ultrasounds- external and internal. All show a cyst on one particular spot. ANYWAY- I have found advocating for myself REALLY challenging. I am a nurse, so I advocate for others all day every day but when it comes to my own health.. I sometimes feel like I’m making a bigger deal of it than it actually is. My biggest fear is they don’t find anything tomorrow. I will defeated. When nothing showed on the MRI I felt stupid.. I know that happens all the time but when you just want answers it is super hard to accept you don’t have any. My question- to anyone who has an excision surgery come up empty and not show anything- is what did you do? How did you move to the next step? Where are you on your journey now? Of course, the pain hasn’t been THAT BAD for me leading up to the surgery. I know I need to stop gaslighting myself but it’s so so hard. Thank you for ANY advise.
