Does feet or ankle MRI shows inflammatory conditions?
Post Content
I need some thoughts or inputs from the group members who are dealing with this pain/symptoms. My rheumatologist ordered an MRI of my feet and ankle on both legs. He wasn't sure if it's gout or RA or some other inflammatory conditions. Since my uric acid remains in the normal range and high inflammation, he couldn't diagnose me yet. This is my first flare up and dealing with this since Jan 2nd. Symptoms started on the right foot and then shifted to left foot and then to ankles both and then to both knees. Now to knuckles on the hands and wrist. Stiffness, pain and swelling throughout the day. I am planning of doing all 4 MRI scans. It is considered as 4 different orders in my imaging center. Mri left ankle, MRI right ankle,MRI left foot and MRI right foot. They sent it to insurance for prior authorization. The insurance took about 2 weeks and now they declined 2 of those orders. They declined MRI ankles of both legs and did approve both feet. I am very frustrated and exhausted with this constant pain and now I have this struggle in doing the imaging. I was hoping the imaging would give me answers and some diagnosis. I don't know if getting an MRI of my feet alone will give any answers. The doctor office staff said ankles would be better to examine than small joints. I didn't get a chance to talk to the doctor yet. I have significant swelling on the ankles everyday. I don't know if I am missing something. Does anyone got your diagnosis or answers with feet MRI?
