High SHBG but normal testosterone, does this rule out PCOS?

Post Content

I’m a 25-year-old female and I just got my hormone panel back. My Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) came back at 172 nmol/L, and the lab reference range is 17.69–138.26, so it’s flagged as high. I’m being evaluated for possible PCOS, but from what I understand, PCOS usually shows low SHBG, not high. My testosterone isn’t elevated either. Is mildly elevated SHBG something to worry about on its own? Would really appreciate any insight
