My dad, 73M, just had a colonoscopy. They found 10 polyps, a few as large as 1 or 2 cm. What's the likelihood he has cancer?

He's been mostly healthy otherwise. Both his parents lived into their 90s. He does smoke though (has for decades) and takes medicine for high blood pressure, which only happened in the last 5 or so years. I know the only real way to know if he has cancer or not is to wait for the pathology results, which will take 2 weeks (agonizing!). But I looked it up and those are pretty large polyps. And the larger they are, the more likely they are to be cancerous. I guess I just want to know if I should prepare myself emotionally for the worst. Signs lean more towards cancer than not, right? Considering the amount of polyps and the sizes? Thanks in advance.
