Podiatry Granulation

Hello! I’m super desperate if a podiatrist could give me an opinion on this granuloma I have on my toe. I’m 24F with no medical conditions. I’ve just been told I need surgery and this feels like a last resort considering this has escalated very quickly - please please can someone give me a 2nd opinion. I didn’t have any ingrown toenail or anything my toe would just bleed every day for like 2 months. The nail was fine and healthy just lifting slightly on that one side. I went to the podiatrist last week and they cut back my nail like this - they said I have granulation and to use iodine patches and keep it dry for a week. There’s been no changes and it’s painful to because of the bump. Ever since I saw the podiatrist it got so much worse since they cut my nail back. I don’t fully trust the podiatrist I saw as the initial time they were super confused what it was and just started cutting away causing me pain. I also do not think iodine alone is the right treatment for this?
