Zepbound to Wegovy switch? Anyone?
Post Content
I am on Zepbound 7.5mg injections. Started Zepbound pens in May of 2025 and went from 220 to 160. I have been so lucky and have experienced little to no side effects. The first 2 months I would feel nauseous only if I pushed myself and over ate if I was out to eat with a group of people. I’ve gotten lightheaded a handful of times. Otherwise, no negative side effects. Due to my health insurance not covering a dime starting 2026, I switched from pens to vials/injections and am currently two injections in- no problems. I used to pay $40 for the pens with insurance coverage and just paid $450 for the first set of vials/injections earlier this month. I’m worried about this cost moving forward, I tried it and just feel I’m going to go into financial worry because of it but Zepbound has quite literally changed my life. Of course weight is the largest difference but it’s also resulted in positive effects on my anxiety, my depression, no longer hot & sweaty, my energy levels, my confidence, my mood, my skin! I’ve done a total 180 and feel like a different person (for the better). Anyway my point here is my doctor suggested Wegovy pens because it’s roughly $100 cheaper/month and I’m not seeing great reviews…. Wegovy not as helpful/strong, people gained weight since switching, Wegovy has bad side effects, food noise right back, etc. I’m worried to make the switch but I’m not sure I can financially afford $450/month for much longer…
