Out of date pills, what to do?

I have lots of concerta XL that are past expiry date cause I suck at keeping on schedule. What should I do with them? If I take them will they still work or have bad side effects? Should I just trash them, or hand them in to a pharmacy to dispose of? I don’t really know what to do. I have a lot of Ritalin tabs too. Could use some advice
