Fibromyalgia Research

Good afternoon, My name is Wiktor Lisowski, and I am a 3rd year undergraduate student in Psychology with Clinical Psychology. I am working on my dissertation, on Fibromylagia and I was wondering if you might be able to help me gather my sample by sharing my research within the charity. Please see the project details below: Examining the representation of interpersonal space in adults with fibromyalgia Purpose of studyInterpersonal distance is defined as the distance people maintain between themselves and other people to avoid feeling uncomfortable (Perry et al., 2016). In this study, we are planning to test whether there are differences in the interpersonal space between people with fibromyalgia and people who have never been diagnosed with a chronic pain condition. Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition with a variety of symptoms, including widespread pain, sleep disturbances and fatigue, and problems with memory and concentration. Who is the researcher?Wiktor Lisowski and my supervisor’s name is Jennifer Todd. The other members of the research team are Jane Aspell and Flavia Cardini. This research is part of a series of studies we are completing on body awareness in fibromyalgia at Anglia Ruskin University. Why have I been asked to participate?You have been invited to take part in this research because you are aged between 18 and 70 years old, have normal or corrected to normal hearing, have access to a laptop or computer with internet, and you have either: • been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and experienced symptoms for at least one year • never been diagnosed with a chronic pain condition and are not currently experiencing symptoms of chronic pain !!
