Is this a prescribing error??
Post Content
So I’ve just collect my first HRT prescription and I’ve been issued with micronised progesterone 100mg and Everol Sequi patches which are estrogen for the first two weeks and a synthetic progesterone for the last two weeks. I have been told to take 200mg of progesterone pills for the first two weeks of my cycle and then a gap of two weeks. But the patches also contain progesterone (norethisterone) for the last two weeks. They are combined patches. I’m SO confused. I thought the progesterone always went at the end of the cycle, not the beginning. And with this protocol I will be on continuous progesterone switching between microionised and synthetic. I’m perimenopausal and still have periods, varying lengths in between but mostly shorter cycles. I don’t have excess bleeding. What does the tribe have to say? Has this been incorrectly prescribed?
