Should I get more help?

I was just an hour ago immobilized by the start of my period. Sharp pain on my right side. Shaking, crying, screaming type a thing. 5 minutes in total maybe but the worst i’ve had it. I’ve had small twinges of this lately before my period along with overheating. Abruptly painful, and annoying but not as bad as this. I assume it’s a cyst considering all the foreshadowing i have from ovulation pain and whatnot. I called the ER (unsure if that’s what it’s called) and they said if i were to get a ultrasound it would have to be through my primary doctor. Call them and he says i should take pain medication and call tomorrow if it gets worse «because it was so short»? Whatever that means I suppose what i’m asking is if I should push more to get it checked out sooner? I’m not diagnosed but i’ve always had bad periods, and more recently my ovulation is sometimes even worse than my period, often bed bound with abundance of heat sacks and other things on my period as i had for a long time avoided medication due to medical anxiety. I’ve mentioned the pain to my doctor before and he suggested hormonal birth control? But he hasn’t actually examined me. Never been to a gynaecologist should i try there instead? I know i need to take a general health thing everyone does soon. I’m also worried it’ll come back or worsen. How urgent is it? Sorry if this is the wrong place or flair, i just, as you probably all can relate to, feel frustrated by the pain and want some support. I hope it’s ok to ask here. I suppose it can be a «regular» cyst too, sorry if that’s irrelevant here.
