How long should migraines last?

Post Content

I was playing on my pc last night when suddenly the left side of my head started hurting and I got a kinda blind spot. My husband said I was probably getting a migraine with aura (migraines are not that uncommon for me or my family), the aura lasted about 20mins messing with my vision on my right side, but my migraine lasted about two or three hours. By the time we went to bed I was able to handle having the tv on again as long as I didn’t look at it. Then I woke up around 7am and the pain was so much worse. I can usually avoid crying cause it makes my migraines worse, but I couldn’t this time. Anyways, I saw a lot of people saying their migraines only last 20mins to an hour most times, but whenever I get one they’re almost always a two to three hour event and I have to be careful the rest of the day cause it could get triggered again. I also don’t know if it’s worth talking to my dr about since they don’t happen too often (maybe bi monthly) and have been going on since I was a kid. Thanks :) Edit: I also have pots, I’m not sure if that could effect anything when it comes to migraines but yeah
