Potential to Taper Buproprion

Post Content

I am a 23 year old AMAB individual and have been taking 300mg bupropion daily for about two years. I started taking the medication in conjunction with 75mg of naltrexone (also taken daily) to help with appetite suppression, but stopped taking the Naltrexone a few months ago after talking to my GP. For around a year, I’ve been experiencing persistent nausea that is disruptive for my day to day life. My GP wrote a prescription for 4mg zofran as needed, but I don’t like to take it unless I absolutely need to because of the side effects. My question is regarding tapering off the bupropion I currently take. I’m traveling at the moment and, consequently, have a 60 day supply of 300mg extended release bupropion pills and a current inability to reach out to my GP to ask for a 150mg prescription. Would it be safe to start taking the bupropion once every two days? I don’t feel particularly concerned regarding depressive symptoms—as I can always go back to my daily dose—but more want to make sure that taking one of my current pills every two days won’t lead to other consequences related to the level of the medication in my system becoming inconsistent. This is my first time posting here, so if there is any other information I can provide please let me know and I’ll include it in an edit or response.
