Waiting for a feeding tube
Post Content
I have schizophrenia and have been unable to eat for a while now due to delusions. Last time this happened I got a feeding tube, but they seem to be reluctant this time around and trying to convince me to eat or at least ingest nutrional drinks– all efforts failing. The nurse said I might get the feeding tube tomorrow, but I'm very skeptical about it being true. I don't really know if this is the right subreddit for this, but I feel I just need to hear other people's experiences with waiting for a feeding tube regardless of what the reasoning behind it is. The schizophrenia subreddit doesn't seem to have a lot of knowledge about specifically feeding tubes and everything surrounding that. I feel very hopeless and lost about the situation, and the nurses seem to think I can just power through it and it's upsetting to feel they think that way.
