doctor won't medicate me

as the title says... I was diagnosed with hashimoto's in the fall of 2025. I have a lot of family history of hypo/hyper/grave's disease/etc. I finally felt a little relief when I got my diagnosis, but then my doctor told me she didn't want to medicate until I became more symptomatic. I am constantly exhausted, brain fogged, can't lose weight... where do I go from here? I'd love a second opinion but of course getting in with an endo takes 12+ months where I am. are there vitamins/supplements/diet changes I can take to help manage symptoms? Or should I reach out and be more forceful with the doctor? My entire family is astounded that the doctor suggested we wait to medicate until my symptoms get worse. Thanks for the help.
