[Personal] my boyfriend is messing up my skin
Post Content
i used accutane for my cystic acne when i was in high school and honestly didn't get any pimples or acne for years after that, until i started living with my bf. i now have what i am assuming is fungal acne (apparently he also has it and says that he's had it since forever), a few pimples that leave marks behind although i do not pick at them, and pimples on my back/shoulders. i literally haven't dealt with this in years and i am genuinely so sad that this is happening. i had such a hard, painful (physically and emotionally) time trying to heal my acne when i was 16-17, literally developed year long allergies because of accutane, and it has all gone to trash. i know that this is not caused by any products because i have been using the same exact 2-3 products for over 2 years. he doesn't wash his face after going out even though he wears his motorcycle helmet, he is so busy sometimes that he doesn't shower for a few days, doesn't wash his face after waking up etc. and all my work goes to trash. i don't want to nag him like i am his mom, i love him and honestly don't care if he doesn't wash his face but i wish it didn't affect me. i am honestly so upset we actually had an argument just because i said that all this was happening and he kept saying that we should do everything we can for my skin but he doesn't want to have a skincare routine or change anything which is sad because i am not a derm so i obviously don't know what the derm i am going to see is going to request. he even got irritated when i got upset at this. he probably felt attacked but i remember how he didn't change anything after i told him he probably has gingivitis and needs to see a dentist, because i am kissing him. just wanted to rant, will talk to him after my derm appointment tomorrow and i am sure we will sort things out one way or another. i am just so sad and disappointed honestly.
