1 year on Wegovy

Post Content

SW 186 lb, CW 160lb, 40yo F 5'3" Celebrating 1 year on Wegovy and down 26 lbs! Its been slow for me, maybe 2 lbs per month, and it constantly feels like I'm stalling. But when I look at these photos I know its making a difference. I'm not quite to my goal weight (and reluctant to even pick a firm goal weight) but will just keep working and maybe in another year I will get there. I do strength training 3-4x per week and focus on getting 80+ grams of protein daily, as recommended by my naturopath. I have been trying to lose weight for what feels like forever and after having kids and entering perimenopause it just seemed like no matter what I did I kept gaining more weight. I had daily fatigue, brain fog and back pain, and was worried about my health. Diet and exercise no longer worked like it did in my 20s. I would lose 2 lbs then gain back 4 the next month. I felt like I was hangry all the time. Then one cheat day would remove weeks of hard work. I am so thankful for GLP-1 finally making it possible to work toward my health goals without constantly feeling like a failure. Even my mental health is better now than it was 1 year ago.
