Hot flash hell

Sorry in advance, this is just a massive rant about my awful night! I’ve been having night sweats for a few months but nothing during the day……. Until today. This evening I had parent teacher night with my 15 yr old son and while I was waiting to speak to a particularly useless physics teacher who I really wanted to have words with aaannnnddd….IT STARTED…. a solid warmth building up my shoulders to my neck and producing a heat comparable with mount Vesuvius. I sat down in front of this teacher with my face aflame and wondering if I was going to get through this okay. I gritted my teeth throughout the whole thing (it didn’t help matters that the teacher was dressed like a child and I was questioning her credentials throughout the whole encounter!) which must have seemed like I was seething at her the whole time. Once I finished I had to leave the room and my 15 yr old helpfully said “wow mum, you’re really red and sweaty!” I asked him if it was that noticeable while fanning the steam from my face and he just nodded seriously and said “yup, REALLY noticeable!” (Thanks for that kiddo 🙄) The only teacher I had left to see was his English teacher, I said to him “how are you doing in the class? What is your grade and how do you get on with the teacher? Answer me fast!” He goes “good, getting an A, and the teacher is good” after that I grabbed his arm and we left. I drove home with the AC on full blast, stripped down to my t shirt trying to calm my burning skin while my kid huddled up in his hoodie not daring to ask me to turn the heat on for him. Of all the days for this to happen, why today?! 😭😭😭 FML.
