This disease deserves a Nobel.

Post Content

I know virtually nothing about medicine, but I strongly believe that when CFS will be decoded, the discoveries made in the process would be extremely important even in other areas. For example many of us, myself included, fell ill after a viral infection. Every year, billions of people get the flu, which is again a viral disease. And CFS is one of the most common conplications. I think that, when we'll better understand the underlying mechanisms of this condition, we'll also gain knowledge about viral illnesses, and with that maybe the development of more efficient antivirals, vaccines. And that alone would be HUGE: because of their nature, viruses are definitely more hard to counter than, say, bacteria. Just think of the HIV vaccine: it took around 30 years to develop groundbreaking therapies that coud drastically increase the life span of the patients. And this sort of breakthrough, my guys, will deserve a Nobel at least, there are no doubts. What do you think? Hopefully there is someone more expert than me who agrees and can help me further justify this point.
