Insurance and Full Costs

Post Content

Hi everyone-- I was fortunate enough with my employee health plan to have the CVS Weight Management program which gave me the benefit of using Wegovy for a very low cost for the last year. however, health plan decided that they were no longer covering GLP-1's in the same way. (Now you have to meet your deductible before getting 75% of cost covered which makes Wegovy 1,200 dollars for four shots.) I can't afford that in this lifetime or the next. I applied for the Wegovy Savings Card on my doctor's recommendation and cost went down from 1200 to 1000. I have my head in my hands; this really worked for my weight loss and my glucose resistance, but I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work on an insurance standard or are my hands tied because it's tied to my employer? Any alternatives?
