(39/M) To test or not?
Post Content
Hi all, recently had some bloodwork done because my libido fell through the floor. Been feeling quite tired, not too much motivation and having troubled sleep for the last 2 years. I'm 39, 40 in June, desk job, have been doing on and off strength training for most part of my life. Consistent for the last 2.5 years now with 3 sessions a week. Cleaned up my diet and been using tirzepatide for the past 12 weeks, lost 9kg so far on avg 1750-1800kcals per day. My stats 178cm 76.7kg Bf 15% guesstimate Bloods came in mostly good except he hormones in my opinion: Vit d at 60 Total T at 12.4 nmol/l Shbg 25.2 nmol/l Calculated free test at 0.288 nmol/l Prolactin 6 ug/l Estrogen 23.8 ug/l Last time I had my bloods done with test levels was i 2017 and total test came in at 169, on which my doc didn'r act. The doc has now forwarded me to an endo for expertise but she thought nothing was wrong allthough total and free T are quite low. I've been thinking about testosterone mainly for better quality of life not so much for blasting huge dosages. The extra results in the gym are a very big plus as well. What's holding me back? - mainly fear that I will 'wreck' my health allthough I clearly understand that regular bloodwork is mandatory. - not being sure if I shoulf commit to this for the rest of my life. Fertility is not an issue for me as I have 2 kids. I know my current calorie cut is probaly the min culprit for the libido issue, since T levels are known to drop a bit. However, I dont think they will be doubled at maintenance calories. Looking for some guidance and opinions.
